We purchased the base unit an the extra headset. Used a digital optical splitter on the the, sending one side to the headphones and the other side to our receiver. We can listen to all TV inputs thru the headphones and our sound system at the same timeThe sound is great most of the time. External noises don't always get reduced as much as I would like.The ear phones are comfortable enough that I'm wearing them to watch the complete NCIS series.This item replaced my previous headset of same make/model. The recharger/transmitting unit is still going strong. I love Sennheiser. Top quality and comfort.Far superior sound quality over our sound bar. Since we only have one charging station, it is a plus that the battery lasts for hours. You will not regret this purchase.Use them for tv viewing , not to disturb othe viewers.My old set is better. If I could, I'd return this unit.The sound quality is outstanding...except for when it occasionally cuts out for a split second every 15 minutes or so. I researched "sound cuts out" and tried all of the remedies. I found it to be less likely to cut out when there is a clear line-of-sight between the transmitter and the headset(s). Since I bought an additional headset so that my wife and I could listen to a movie loudly late at night without disturbing the upstairs neighbors (we live in an apartment), we noticed that the sound cut out on both the headsets simultaneously, indicating that it is a transmitting problem (vs. receiving). Not sure what the fix it, but we decided to keep them; the sound is so awesome that the minor inconvenience of the cut-out is overshadowed by the rest.I would recommend this product, however I would really like to see the company fix the problem. In this age of WiFi, Bluetooth, and other methods of linking electronics, I think they can fix the problem.We love the sound quality and now ever word is clear even a whisper.Dislike nothingI've owned for years. I bought this as a replacement for a broken headset, easy pairing. Sound is good, no real noise cancelling, I find it has a shorter range than previous Senhiser models. It is set up in Living Room at the end of an open concept house; if I go to the other end of the kitchen then signal fadesI originally bought my wife the main setup with the charging base about a year ago. We find that the sound quality coming out from the tv or our Onkyo 5.1 stereo system was not great for hearing audio on movies and tv programs . My wife raves about the headset I bought her , so I gave it a try and boy was she right, it was amazing . So I did a little checking and guess what you can have a pair of these setup so we are know listening to our shows and movies without looking at each other and saying "what did he or she say". Thumbs up all the way around, we LOVE the Sennheiser system . We just make sure to put one headset at a time on the charging stand so both are fully charged for our next movie or tv session. :) Oh and a bonus is the ability to replace the AA batteries down the road when they stop recharging ..These are awesome headphones you can go to the bathroom , make a meal in the kitchen,put clothes in the washer or dryer in the laundry room you can go out in the garage whatever you want and never miss a thing on your favorite show. They are great, best buy ever. Very pleased with my purchase and believe me I did my homework looking for these headphone for a couple of months before I bought these. I read so many reviews of different brand and final decided on these for three reasons. 1. you can have two headset for one receiver. 2. the receiver doubles as a charger so the headphones are always charged and ready to go. 3. these headphones 175 have awesome surround sound.My husband doesn't hear well so the volume on the tv is always full blast driving me crazy with the sound so I bought the two sets and now it is always quiet in the house. I can be reading a book beside him on the couch and it is peaceful and quiet. They saved my marriage for sure.I purchased the headphone plus the charger set and then ordered a single Sennheiser headphone so both my husband and I can listen to movies or just the television at different levels of hearing. They are perfect and the sound is fantastic. We Love them and wondered why we waited so long to enjoy the experience of letting us hear the quality better! We can even adjust the surround sound. We indeed recommend this as a 10+Great for company or if the charge is depleted on one then I can use the charged headphone and place the depleted one on the charger. I find that when wearing the headphones you hear the sounds much clearer. Would purchase again.
