It just doesn’t power on at all anymore after a few charging cycles.Would not purchase !On September 17, 2021 I ordered what was supposed to be a “smart/intelligent battery charger to charge the lithium polymer batteries that came with two remote control cars that I’d ordered. And as you see in the photos something went completely wrong due to a faulty product not from a novice battery user error. Let me explain. I’ve been really dealing with all types of batteries/charger since 2013 when my mom my brother and I opened a vapor store in horn lake ms called West Vapor Co. which is still open to this day with not one injury, incident, or fire due to chargers or batteries, or charging or discharging batteries for that matter. Before the store opened my mom had some friends in tupelo who’d opened a vapor store in 2012 who were very knowledgeable ab the many batteries and chargers of all types that come with the vaporizers. For 2 weeks my brother, myself, and my whom would be running the vapor store were sent to the pros to learn all that comes with vaping and yes you guessed it we learned batteries and chargers inside and out because without the knowledge and learning safety ab all batteries and all chargers we would be putting our customers life’s and limbs at risk of being burned, hurt, or even worse killed. That all said, I am no novice when it comes to battery chargers. When I ordered the charger I of course wanted the best deal with good reviews so of course I read the bad reviews which you’ll see below in the pictures. Upon reading these reviews, I of course think these people clearly did something wrong for this charger to “burst into flames”. Thinking “I know the ins and outs of basically every charger and battery out there surely I can get this one and using the knowledge I already have on top of reading the manual and following it on how to calibrate it surely there will be no problems”. I received the charger and of course read the manual word for word then went on to charging the lipo batteries I had for my two rc cars with no issues or complaints whatsoever. I was happy with my purchase. On the morning of October 12, 2021 I was at my house in my shop where I always charge and discharge not only my rc car batteries but my vape mod batteries, car batteries, drill batteries etc. The charger was unplugged as it always is when I’m not using it or not going to be around it. I was getting ready to play with one of my rc cars and my dad called wanting to know if I wanted to ride up the road to a hardware store with him. I said sure waiting on you. I piddled around the shop picking up and organizing things right before he pulls up I plug the battery charger up where I normally do into a 6 way with a breaker on it that will flip if something shorts out. Knowing what I know ab batteries of course I left the batteries in the flame retardant bag that came with the car with the charger to the side plugged up for when I returned I could hook the battery up to it from using it the day before. My dad gets there we go to the hardware store get pesticides and his fish to stock his ponds then return to black smoke rolling out of the shop where everything I use to make a living with is in both my vehicles are right in front of approximately 20 fuel cans full of gasoline, 4 completely filled propane bottles, a Kawasaki mule (atv), lawn mowers, weedeaterrs all with fuel in them! Starting to see the picture? In a panic we both jump out of his truck and run toward the fire.. by the grace of God we were only gone for 10 minutes or we could be talking something very, very serious. We run in the shop to see the table on fire where multiple things were sitting. Both rc cars all the batteries were not only in a fire proof bag but in another duffle style bag that was burned to a crisp. A dewalt combo box with multiple tools, drill, impact driver, saw, all burned. The keys to my 2002 Yukon and 05 Jeep Liberty. My wallet with 430$ plus debit cards. The table itself is the table my mom had when my brother, sister and I were growing up now destroyed. While trying to put out the fire I grabbed a 2 gallon jug of water that the handle was half melted and with all that was happening I wasn’t paying attention and of course saw water and grabbed it unknowingly of the melting plastic that stuck to my hand.I'm a recent buyer of a Traxxas RC car. I learned that I could get a bit more punch from LIPO batteries, but would need a better charger. Now the basic 12V charger that came with my car was slow, and only for MIMH batteries, so after some research found this charger. I would caution the rookies that LIPO batteries require that you learn the intricacies of this type of battery, read the instructions and use the safety protocols. There are many fine tutorials on how to charge, handle, store LIPO batteries, and how not to burn down your house doing it. This charger works great, on both NIMH & LIPO batteries, and is very fairly priced. It does however have instructions that are not extremely helpful. With a little practice though, I have explored the menus, and have grown to appreciate the versatility of this unit.Easy to use. Has alarm when batteries are done. I've charged lots of batteries with it. Good bang for your buck. All rightPhenomenal value for your money. Easy ish to use, provides all of the options that you need to effectively balance charge/discharge/store lipos! The discharging takes awhile but the balance charging is very fast. If you buy , which you should do yourself a favor and read the online manual. This little thing has all the features of the premium chargers but you have to know how to use it. It charges/discharges all cells very evenly btw.The charger unit itself is great. Whats not great is the cheap ac power adapter that comes with it. It worked fine for one battery at a time but when parallel charging 4 batteries at only 4amps the ac adapter burned up. Luckily the ac adapter to my old Nintendo wii U was 15v 5a so I just spliced on the connector. No issues parallel charging since upgraded ac adapter. This battery charger appears to be acceptable. However the power supply that was sent with the charger seems to have been built by a company with inadequate moral values. Although the power supply was rated for 15 volts and 6 amps, upon charging a 12 volt lithium battery at 5 Amps the power supply got hot and blew a trace off the board in an hour. The power supply was built as cheap as possible, and as a result a mosfet on the board was being abused and overheated and failed.I couldn't even leave my review because when i got it, It didnt work!!!
